It’s a great opportunity to meet people from different parts of the same industry, from different companies, share experiences and swap stories. And I would like to see that this forum becoming like a think tank that can start making recommendations to policymakers and regulators as an output of such an event, and that will really help in shaping the industry in India as it goes forward.

This 7th edition of LNG India Summit is a wonderful event. The organisers are very well versed with all the rules, regulations and have very good knowledge about all the LNG Industry. This Summit is a very important Industry platform. As a regulator, I have also shared some of the issues which if this conference deliberates will benefit the infrastructure development and the consumption of natural gas in the country.

This event here, the 7th LNG summit, is a very important event where all the users of LNG, technology providers, service providers, sellers of LNG, they all come together to deliberate on issues. How do you make India's aspiration to transition to gas based economy to fulfil that, actually. We have some very vibrant discussion from government companies, the private players and all around. I wish this event a great success.

It is a real honour for me to be here at the LNG India Summit. India is a really promising market for LNG exporters, including GECF. Today, 80% of India’s LNG import comes from our member countries. According to our estimation, LNG will become world’s largest energy source by 2050 with a share of 27% in the global energy mix. We hope that cooperation between our member countries and India will continue in the future.

The summit provided in depth information on certain topics. It was a great platform for providing insightful view of the Indian LNG market from the stakeholders. The organisers were really accommodative. It provided a balance in topics and not heavy to one particular segment. Great subject matter. It should be done annually as a platform for LNG stakeholders of Indian Market to discuss new developments and challenges.

India has set an ambitious target of moving towards a gas-based economy by increasing the share of natural gas in its primary energy mix to 15% by 2030. Natural gas is versatile, cleaner and efficient, making it a strategic fuel of the future. However, the Indian natural gas market has been affected by its availability, inadequate distribution pipeline network and price competitiveness of imported gas (LNG).
